Spain's new Royal Decree (RD 638/2026) creates a €15 million aid program to help hospitality businesses (hotels, restaurants, bars, catering, etc.) replace old equipment with more energy-efficient alternatives. The objective is to reduce energy costs, improve sustainability, and increase competitiveness in the hospitality sector. Applications are open from 5 August 2026 to 30 September 2026, subject to budget availability.
Grants range from €5,000 to €11,000 per establishment and may cover up to 100% of eligible investment costs. Eligible investments include kitchen machinery, appliances, air-conditioning systems, awnings, and umbrellas with lower energy consumption.
